As with any type of data-driven system, the success of your email marketing can be influenced by the amount of data that is added to the system and how that data is used. Using Mailing Manager you are able to create a "custom field" for every bit of information, other than the email address, that you would like to import. On importing your data list, you would map each of your data columns on your CSV file to the associated custom field you have created. Once you have all of this additional data in the system, you will be able to create segments of your list using one or multiple parameters (custom fields) eg. I would like to send an targeted email to all the females between the ages of 25 and 30, living in Oxfordshire. By creating these segments your email marketing will not only become more targeted thus yielding better results, but you will also avoid alienating subscribers who would not be interested in that specific message.
